Background
Beluran District Council

Beluran District Council is a Local Authority under the Ministry of Local Government and Housing, established in 1961.

The area governed by the Beluran District Council covers approximately 4,590 acres, encompassing two townships as follows:

1. Beluran Town, with an area of approximately 3,840 acres.

2.Paitan Small Town, covering 750 acres, which is still in the development phase.

The Beluran District Council was first formed in 1972 with only one clerk, and initially, it was administered by the Beluran District Office. By 1974, the Council had one Works Officer, two permanent staff members, and seven general laborers.

In total, the Beluran District Council has been administered by 18 Council Members, one Executive Officer appointed by the Ministry of Local Government and Housing, and the Chairman of the Council is the Beluran District Officer. The Council's administration moved from the Beluran District Office building to its own premises on January 1, 1993.
