Fungsi-fungsi Majlis Daerah Beluran dinyatakan dalam seksyen 49(1) Ordinan KerajaanTempatan 1961 dan Instrument Majlis Daerah Beluran adalah seperti berikut: –<\/p>\n
Providing waste collection services to traders, interested private residences, and government departments.<\/p>\n
Imposing and collecting taxes within the jurisdiction of the Beluran District Council, such as land cess, waste services, and others.<\/p>\n
Providing public facilities such as multipurpose halls, sports fields, jetties, street lighting, pedestrian walkways, bus stops, children\u2019s playgrounds, and public toilets.<\/p>\n
Implementing projects assigned by the State Government and the Federal Government.<\/p>\n
Providing facilities for traders such as markets, stalls, and designated trading areas.<\/p>\n
Controlling the growth of squatter areas within the council\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n
Maintaining cleanliness and beautifying town areas through the planting of trees and flowering plants along main roads.<\/p>\n
Controlling and eliminating stray dogs without owners.<\/p>\n
Establishing its own fund to finance services and various projects.<\/p>\n

The management of the Beluran District Council is responsible for implementing all policies set by the Sub-Committees, including directives and circulars from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sabah, as well as the Federal and State Governments. Among its other roles are:<\/p>\n

Advancing, encouraging, and coordinating economic and business activities.<\/p>\n
Strengthening revenue management.<\/p>\n
Providing and maintaining infrastructure and public facilities.<\/p>\n
Managing the environment, cleanliness, and public health.<\/p>\n
Supporting youth and community development.<\/p>\n
